Ask for a Self-Pay or Cash Price
Many facilities offer a discounted "self-pay" or "cash pay" rate that is lower than their standard billed rate, precisely because they avoid the administrative cost of billing insurance. It's always worth asking directly whether this option exists.
Request an Itemized Estimate
A complete quote should include the surgeon's fee, facility or operating room fee, anesthesia fee, and any pre-operative testing or follow-up visits. Ask whether the quote is an estimate or a guaranteed price, and get it in writing.
Comparing Providers
